Phantam of the Opera

On Thursday 10/24/08 Mom and Dad treated My Husband and I, Emily and themselves to a afternoon in the theater. Bob and I were very excited because it was our first "BIG" production that wasn't in Grand Junction at the Avalon, Mesa State or a High School.

Bob loved it all, the lights, the music, the acting, the idea of culture in Washington.

I wasn't that impressed. I may just be getting old but I couldn't understand a lot of the singing and I know most of the songs. I loved the technical aspects of the show, costumes, sets, and when they didn't all sing at once.

For me it also brought up a lot of memories and feelings from High School that I didn't realize I still had. I tried to inflitrate the click of thespians and got burned bad. So much so that I only did two plays, Cheaper by the Dozen and Phantom, (a non broadway version of the same story.) I even auditioned and sang in front of people. In Cheaper I was in the program and yearbook but name was spelled wrong and I always wondered why they couldn't have asked me. For Phantom I was asked to come in late and help, with no thanks or being included in the program or in the yearbook as a member of the staff.

In 2005 or 2006 Bob and I had the chance to get cheap tickets to the caberet and I didn't want to go and support the people that were so rude in high school, oddly enough there were like 5 or so in the cast. I know it is over 14 years ago now and I should just forget it. Its strange how something so beautiful can bring up memories of such bad things.
I still love the music and I will go and see more shows now that I have come to grips.

So if you get the chance go see it see the wonderful costumes and set design, here is a link for the tour. http://www.thephantomoftheopera.com/us_tour/

Evil Baboons?!?

About Graham Norton: Welcome to the weird and wonderful world of Graham. It's a chat show all about the people, the stories and the things that are closest to his heart.

The previous series included guests such as Dennis Hopper, Elle MacPherson, Dustin Hoffman, David Tennant and a wealth of other stars from stage, screen and the dark recesses of the internet.
Graham is one of the best loved presenters on British television. His chat shows So Graham Norton and V Graham Norton made him a household name and picked up nearly every award going, including four BAFTAs.

At the BBC his work has included the hit shows Strictly Dance Fever, How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? and Any Dream Will Do, as well as three series of topical talk show The Bigger Picture on BBC1 and the two previous series of The Graham Norton Show.

On the show he says "Baboons are evil." The link is a clip from his show, about why baboons are evil.

At the end of the show Graham texts 'AQA' ('Any Question Asked') and asks 'Are Baboons evil?' A few seconds later the answer comes back.

'Yes Baboons are evil, anything that steals your windscreen wipers while waving a red bum in your face is the work of the dark side'.

Survival Guide Book

So I found one of my Dad's survival books and as I was looking through it, I noticed they left out one very important point in the self defense chapter. When you are approached by three clowns you go for the juggler first.

The BEST Medicine

For the past couple of months I have had really bad abdominal pain and have been cycling almost constantly. I've been to the doctor twice, the first one she did a pap and tested for std's. The pap was clean and I don't have Gonorrhoea or Chlamydia, which I knew already. The second visit she put me on the pill and gave me Naproxen for the pain (because Tylenol and ibuprofen don't work). Neither of these have helped yet and its been 2 1/2 weeks. I've had my schedule changed at work to 4 hour shifts and go whenever I can. But more recently I have been coming over to my parents house like every day because the BEST Medicine is PUPPIES. There is Put Put 11, Lilly 5, and Piper 6. And they make me feel much better. Emily is holding Piper (the littlest one) and Lilly (the medium one, and Put is on the back of the chair.
This is Piper hiding in the clean clothes.

Lilly

But Put is getting older and in just the last couple days she has withdrawn. She is kind of depressed and acts like she is in pain. She looks scared and we are all very sad because just last week she was running and jumping like she was a little puppy. And it feels like the begining of her end. I am thankful to know that animals have spirits and that when she goes she'll go to heaven.
